These December read aloud lesson plans are interactive and focus on important learning standards. Each week there will be one main standard to be focused on but other standards will also be tied in just as a brief introduction of that skill or a review. These lessons were designed for a 1st grade classroom but could easily be used with kindergarten and 2nd grade as well.

This interactive read aloud pack uses 3 different books for 3 weeks of lessons for the months of December. There are only 3 in this month because of winter break. Each Friday the class will complete a cute craft to show their mastery of the skill.
These December read aloud lesson plans can be used as a whole group reading lesson where students can come to the carpet. Students will participate by listening, thinking, talking with a partner, writing in their reading notebooks, sharing and more.
